The Hollywood Car Vault, Vol. 1.
The cars you grew up watching, and what really happened to them.
You remember the Bandit’s Trans Am tearing through Georgia. The General Lee in mid-air. Magnum’s Ferrari on the Kamehameha Highway. The Hollywood Car Vault takes you back to those moments, then tells you the rest of the story.
Inside are 22 classic movie and TV vehicles from 1968 to 1986, from the Bullitt Mustang and the Kenworth from Smokey and the Bandit to the A-Team van, the Fall Guy’s GMC, KITT.
For each one you’ll find:
The real story of the car and how it ended up on screen
What Hollywood faked, from stunt doubles to studio tricks
From the Set: a behind-the-scenes story about the car and the people who drove it
Where it is now, and how many are known to survive
What they’ve sold for, based on published auction results
How to own one today, whether a tribute build or the real model
Enter the year you were born and the Vault shows how old you were when each car hit the screen. Sort by year to relive the timeline, and save your own memory of where you first saw each one.
Every entry lists its sources. Where they disagree, or a story rests on a single account, we say so instead of picking the better story.
One payment. No subscription. It opens in your browser on any phone, tablet or computer. It comes with a printable PDF edition, and every future update to Volume 1 is included free.
